DECOMPRESSION TRACTION

Disc decompression traction procedures facilitate the healing of biomechanical abnormalities of the musculoskelatal system. Disc conditions are commonly treated for abnormal function and pain by mechanical traction. Spinal disc herniation is may also be treated by exercise therapy and/or by manual manipulation.

The use of decompression traction tables and other decompression equipment often leads to higher success rates of disc healing than previous treatment options. The decompression procedures relieve the pressure that has built up on the discs and nerves by drawing areas of herniated disc back into place. This is accomplished by creating negative pressure within the disc, also referred to as negative intra-disc pressure. This creates a vacuum to draw the bulging and herniated disc material back into the disc space and relieves pressure and pain.
